On 20 June, the BioD’Agro consortium organised an event to demonstrate the technology being developed to remotely monitor crops and support management and decision-making.

In the morning, there was a visit to the sensor islands installed at Quinta da Extrema, owned by the Colinas do Douro company, and the afternoon was reserved for discussions on agriculture, biodiversity, technology, remote monitoring, and its impact on the territory.

The BioD’Agro project demonstration session with a visit to the sensor islands allowed the consortium to see automatic weather stations, soil moisture probes, water potential sensors, automatic traps, acoustic bat sensors, hedge and inter-row vegetation monitoring cameras and communication devices.
