LITecS had the honor of participating in the S4i – Science for Industry 2025 summit on January 28-29, 2025, marking our second consecutive year at this prestigious event. Bringing together innovators and industry leaders, S4i serves as a dynamic platform to explore sustainable and technological solutions across various fields.

During the event, we presented two of our flagship projects: the ROBOTA-SUDOE project, where we demonstrated advancements in collaborative robotics and soft grippers for industrial automation in the agrofood sector, and the Montanha Viva project, showcasing our efforts in biodiversity conservation, sustainable tourism, and local economic development through the hiker’s app and decision-support system.

S4i also provided an invaluable opportunity for networking and collaboration, allowing us to connect with leading companies and research laboratories, fostering partnerships for future innovation. At the Robotics Demo Corner, we had a dedicated space to exhibit our soft gripper technology in action, where visitors watched as our robotic system served coffee from a Delta Cafés coffee machine, demonstrating the real-world applications of our research. A special thanks to Delta Cafés for sponsoring this interactive demonstration!

One of the highlights of our participation was being selected for the Agrofood Innovation Journey, where we had the chance to present our technologies to major industry players, including Danone, Estrella Galicia, Mahou San Miguel, Pascual, and ABB. This was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our innovations and explore how they can be applied to meet the needs of the agrofood sector.
