LITecS proudly participated in ICEUBI 2024 – International Congress on Engineering, held from November 27 to 29, 2024, at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Beira Interior in Covilhã. With this year’s theme, “Sustainability and Resilience: Innovation and Solutions,” the event provided a valuable platform to showcase our research in engineering and sustainability.
On November 27, researcher Nuno Pereira chaired a Parallel Session on Computer Science and Engineering, leading discussions on cutting-edge projects and technological advancements in the field. The following day, on November 28, Professor Pedro Dinis Gaspar hosted a thematic session titled “Empowering Sustainability: Innovative Technologies and Practices in Agriculture and Industry”, where several LITecS projects were presented. The ROBOTA-SUDOE project highlighted advances in collaborative robotics for the food industry, while Rodrigo Antunes showcased innovative grippers with conductive filament, integrating sensing capabilities into soft robotic designs. The Montanha Viva project was also featured, emphasizing biodiversity conservation and sustainable tourism, supported by an interactive dashboard and decision-support system. Additionally, Matilde Sousa presented an interactive table design, demonstrating how technology can enhance user engagement with the flora of Serra da Gardunha.
ICEUBI 2024 was an inspiring event, bringing together researchers, professionals, and innovators to discuss how engineering can drive a sustainable and resilient future. We are proud to have contributed to these discussions and shared our projects, reinforcing LITecS’ commitment to innovation and sustainability!
