LITecS proudly participated in the 3rd edition of the Fundão Agricultural Innovation Fair (FIAF) from October 10 to 13, 2024, an event that brought together local producers, universities, businesses, and innovators to explore cutting-edge technologies and sustainable agricultural practices.

At FIAF, we had the opportunity to connect with the agricultural community, engaging with producers, companies, and academic institutions to share insights, showcase technologies, and establish meaningful collaborations. Our participation also included a round table discussion, where we presented two of our flagship projects: ROBOTA-SUDOE, focused on collaborative robotics and soft grippers for the food industry, and Montanha Viva, which is developing a decision-support system for the sustainable exploitation of mountain plants in remote areas, now featuring an interactive hiker’s app that suggests routes based on the phenology of local species.

Additionally, our Chief of Laboratory, Professor Pedro Dinis Gaspar, delivered a presentation on the Med-Wet project, showcasing innovative solutions for wetland management, highlighting the balance between environmental conservation and agricultural productivity.

FIAF provided an invaluable platform to demonstrate LITecS’ commitment to innovation, sustainability, and collaboration in agriculture. We are proud to contribute to the ongoing transformation of this vital sector, blending traditional knowledge with cutting-edge technology to create a more sustainable future.
