LITecS had the honor of participating in the XIII Winterfest, a major event focused on the intersection of technology, sustainability, and regional development. This forum stood out as an excellent platform for discussing the future of agriculture and innovation in rural areas.

As part of the event, our coordinator, Professor Pedro Dinis Gaspar, was invited as a guest speaker to give a presentation on the theme “Agriculture 4.0.” His talk focused on how new technologies can drive a more sustainable future for mountain regions.

During his presentation, the Montanha Viva project was highlighted, demonstrating how technological innovation—through digital tools, real-time data, and decision-support systems—can be directly applied to biodiversity preservation, smart agriculture, and the promotion of sustainable tourism, contributing to the protection of native species.

Winterfest was a fantastic opportunity to reinforce the importance of collaboration between technology and sustainability. We are proud to actively support the preservation of Serra da Gardunha’s natural heritage, reaffirming our commitment to a more resilient agricultural future and the sustainable development of the region.
