LITecS played a leading role in a nationally relevant workshop on “Innovation and Digital Technologies,”<\/strong> held on May 21, 2025. The initiative was part of the AKIS system (National Agriculture Knowledge and Innovation System), a strategic network coordinated by the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development of the Government of Portugal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our coordinator, Professor Pedro Dinis Gaspar<\/strong>, led the 1.5-hour workshop, which was attended by 156 technicians and professionals from institutions linked to agriculture and the agro-industry. The session was designed to empower sector agents with the latest digital tools and knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the workshop, Professor Gaspar presented the latest results of the Montanha Viva<\/strong> project. Topics covered included the sustainable use of native plants, digital monitoring tools for biodiversity, smart decision-support systems for agricultural planning, and tourism integration through technology and the circular economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This workshop was an excellent opportunity to disseminate the goals and results of the Montanha Viva project to a specialized audience. The initiative also allowed for a discussion on the potential for expanding this model nationwide, reinforcing our commitment to knowledge transfer and innovation in the Portuguese agricultural sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
